R.J Alexander, Hayes-Lucas Lumber assistant manager, was the hero of the day when he pulled 5-year-old Patsy Harwick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Harwick, and 4-year-old John Sibley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sibley, from the icy waters of Silver Lake. The children had ventured onto the ice and broke through about 10 feet from shore.
